AIR MAILS OF CANADA 1925-1939

Written by George Arfken and Walter Plomish.  A quote from a book reviewer:  "For at least seven years, I have heard and/or read plans, predictions, rumors, reports, and finally reviews of a book based on Walter Plomish's collection of commercial air mail covers.  My first impression on examining this book, is that it is a lot better than I was expecting after all this build-up."  George and Walter have taken a huge topic, and produced an excellent summary.  Congratulations to them.  They have produced a book which is easy to read, very well illustrated, and full of information - in terms of statistics.  It is approximately 8-1/2" x 11" in size, over 230 pages in length and contains 206 illustrations.                                                                  OUT OF PRINT

THE POSTAL RATES OF CANADA - 1851- 1859  The Warren S. Wilkinson collection.                            By Charles G. Firby

THE REVIEWS ARE IN:      "What a marvelous achievement is your publication of the Wilkinson Rates. I am finding the book a real pleasure to read and study. I am not aware of another major Canadian auction being done in the format you have used for this catalogue. I find the collection assembled by Mr. Wilkinson and the display and documentation of the material by yourself to be an amazing achievement. Frankly, I don't know how you can sell this book for $55. I thought the Sotheby's catalogues for the Sir Gawaine Baillie collection had set a new standard for auction catalogues. I think your display of Mr. Wilkinson's collection has set an even higher standard. Your book will make a lasting contribution to philatelic literature in general and bring a new awareness to the importance of Canadian philately. Well done."                   ANOTHER "I personally believe it is a real masterpiece and destined to be the reference publication on the subject for years to come."                                                                To View sample pages click here and  Here
