PROVIDES Absentee Bidding by Telephone, Fax or Email
Bidders who cannot attend the sale may leave written bidding instructions. Bids telephoned in must be confirmed in writing by fax, mail or email prior to the sale date.
Airport Pickup
If you are flying into Detroit for an auction, any day other than the sale date, please notify our office so that we can schedule a staff member to pick you up at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. To schedule, please ask for Ann. She will be pleased to arrange your hotel accommodations as well, if you wish.
Expert Certification
Individual items offered without a recognized expert's certificate (or other accepted authority's certificate) dated within the past five years may be purchased at auction subject to certification (please see Terms & Conditions of sale for details).
Hotel Reservations
We recommend the Best Western Concorde Inn (248) 666-8585, 1/4 mile from our gallery. The accommodation is pleasant and features a swimming pool. The inn also provides courtesy delivery and pickup services to anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel.
The Holiday Inn Express (248) 674-3434 is less than 2 miles away. This facility also has a pool.

Our lot describers will be pleased to review the description of any lot and provide more detailed information. Please telephone for a personal consult.
Opening Bids
During the two days prior to the sale, we will furnish approximate opening bids by telephone(only). Openings often change (up or down) and cannot be guaranteed as a reliable indicator. (OPENING BIDS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED ON SALE DAYS.)
Prices Realized
Printed prices realized lists are mailed to all subscribers within 10 days of the sale. They are also available from our web site approximately 5 days after each auction.
Shipping and Delivery of Lots
Instructions for shipping must be given to CGFA prior to the auction sale. Unless special shipping instructions are received, we will follow the shipping method selected on the bid form. Buyers are responsible for all shipping charges, whether or not the actual out-of-pocket expense is equal to the invoiced charge.
Telephone Bidding
Prospective bidders may request to bid through one of our staff members via the telephone. Requests must be placed at least 2 days prior to the date of the sale. Telephone bidding, by necessity is subject to availability and may be cancelled due to oversubscription.
Viewing by Appointment
In addition to the scheduled public viewing hours, prospective bidders may often view lots at our galleries by appointment.
Viewing by Mail
Subject to availability, many lots can be sent to established clients (or those who submit references) for examination. Requests can be made no later than five days prior to the auction. Lots must be returned on the day of receipt by Next Day Air (Fed Ex or Airborne). All outgoing packages will be sent freight collect or billed to the recipient's account number. Large lots will not be available for postal viewing.
